The list of our philanthropic activities is very long over the years. One of this year’s new projects is to collect clothing, school supplies and toiletries for the St. Joseph Carmelite Home for Girls.
We meet at the Lyons Ville Congregational United Church of Christ and have sponsored a craft show for them and painted many items to sell, sponsored a “learn to paint” day for the Church members, painted centerpieces for their 75th Anniversary Banquet and donated food and money to help an Indian Mission in Kansas City which is associated with the Church. We’ve painted Memory heart boxes, crocheted & sewn baby & lap blankets for hospitals in our area. Supplied toiletries, painted bags, etc. for several Battered Women’s Shelters including The St. Jude Home for Battered Women. We haven’t forgotten our Military family by sending painted cards, toiletries and supplies overseas and to the VA Hospitals.
We’ve been very supportive of the Society of Decorative Painters by contributing each year to the
National Museum of Decorative Arts as well as to the Society of Decorative Painters Scholarship fund.
