Member’s Recognition

We are proud to recognize one of our current members, Ann Johnson, who served as President of the Society of Decorative Painters from 2005 to 2006. In addition to receiving the Silver Palette Award from the Society in 2008, she was President of Illinois Prairie Painters from 1990-1991 and served on several of our committees. In 2011 was selected for our Prairie Pride Award.

Gloria Bogs is also a current member who is deserving of our recognition. In 2013 she won the highest award given by the Pampered Palette Juried Art Exhibition at the 41st SDP Conference in St. Charles, Ill., The “Award of Excellence-Best of Show” for her painting of a Zebra entitled “Stripes”, which is now housed in the permanent collection of the Museum of the Society of Decorative Painters. She also won 2nd place in the “Animals” category that year. Her picture of “Stripes” has also been included on the SDP 2014 Calendar.

In 2014 at the SDP Conference in San Diego – in the same Juried Art Show, she won First ┬áPlace in Florals for her watercolor, “What is a Weed” and First Place for her oil painting “Smile”, a picture of a sea captain.
